I have changed the mood of “Good King Wenceslas” from the bouncy, well-known tune, to a more thoughtful and pensive new melody. This more accurately portrays the mood of the “good King” looking out and considering how “the snow lay all about, deep and crisp and even”, bringing a new perspective to this ancient medieval saint, whose life became popular in England in the 19th century.
Here is a link to hear the music and follow the score. Your chorus and audience will enjoy getting a new musical approach to appreciate the Good King.
