New Melodies & Arrangements for the Holidays and beyond

Looking for something new and exciting for Chanukah for your Holiday Concert?
I have taken text from the Book of Zechariah that are part of the Chanukah liturgy. They reference a vision of the menorah, the major symbol of the holiday. The text of this is based on God’s expression, “Not by might, and not by power, but by My Spirit”.
Arnold Harris’ arrangement of the Hebrew text features a vigorous, powerful melody for “not by strength, and not by power”, repeating “not, not, not” with force. This is contrasted with a slow and peaceful setting for “but by My Spirit”. There are not many words, and your chorus and audience will be captivated by the dynamic and tempo changes reflecting the textual meaning.
