The Choir of Somerville College, one of the best mixed-voice choirs in the University of Oxford, is proud to announce the release of its new album ‘REQUIEM AETERNAM’ (Stone Records 5060192780208), a recording of two works written in 1947 as a response to World War II: Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem (version for choir, organ and cello) and Robin Milford’s ‘Mass for Five Voices’.
The CD features internationally acclaimed opera singers Mark Stone (baritone) and Christine Rice (mezzo-soprano) as well as former BBC Young Musician of the Year Guy Johnston (cello). The choir is conducted by David Crown and accompanied by Tristan Mitchard (organ).
The album will be released on Monday (17th September) and is available for pre-order from Amazon UK, HMV and Stone Records.
