New Choral Society director returning to roots

September 13, 2012 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

By Jenna Martin
EVANS, GA — For more than a decade, Don Cleary devoted himself to building the drama program at Paine College in Augusta.  He returned to his roots in choir directing, however, when he accepted the artistic director position at Columbia County Choral Society.

“I’m no longer teaching at Paine College, so I don’t really have an outlet for my musical and theatrical nature,” the Augusta resident said. “It just seemed like … a way of going back to your roots.”
