Dear Friends, This is one of the most important moments of my life. It’s a thrill to finally share with you the exciting news about “Kyrie” from its premiere at Jacksonville University, a moment so special that I flew there to experience it firsthand.
Having my friend Julian Bryson conducting was very meaningful for this initiative that speaks of the spirit of brotherhood. This piece marks the beginning of the longest journey I will embark upon: a decade-long project of writing one movement of the Mass each year, all in a consortium format.
Now, the scores are available for you to perform “Kyrie” in your upcoming season. Moreover, you have the unique opportunity to join and become part of the “Gloria” consortium.
As you can imagine, this project is close to my heart, setting the stage for a series of compositions that I believe will create lasting memories and inspire our global choral community.
I hope now that the scores are available, you can consider scheduling a major work and bring future performances of the Kyrie to life. A heartfelt thank you to all the past, present, and future conductors and ensembles for your partnership in embarking on this monumental project, bringing messages of unity and harmony to your audiences!
Kyrie (WORLD PREMIERE) – Mass of Eternal Unity – Santiago Veros
Thanks to the people who commissioned this piece, to the incredible generosity of Patrons Kirsten Goulde and Marti Dawson. To the directors who have been with us from the beginning of the composition, Randy Wellbaum, Julian Bryson, Cara Tasher, Ali Kordelewski, and Adam Hooper. This has been a monumental beginning. Thrilled to meet the group that will bring the Gloria consortium to life this year.
Warmly,
Santiago Veros
