Mozart – Vesperae Solennes de Dominica

June 22, 2015 by Richard Sparks Leave a Comment

Hi all,

This is from a live performance last November at the University of North Texas:

This is the much less known Vespers setting by Mozart, but equally beautiful and expressive! The famous Laudate Dominum in the Confessore setting is probably what leads to its greater popularity–here the Laudate is a virtuoso movement for soprano solo (no chorus), here sung by Julianna Emanski, a DMA student in voice at UNT. All soloists are members of the Collegium Singers.

Please consider programming it! Quite wonderful!
