The Mostly Modern Festival (MMF) is a brand new summer festival that celebrates the music of our time. The focus of the festival is “mostly modern”: music by living composers from around the world, with occasional works from the standard repertoire. There will be four concerts a week, featuring world class ensembles, including the American Modern Orchestra, American Modern Choir, American Modern Ensemble, and Guest Artists.

The festival is ideally located in beautiful Saratoga Springs, NY, a world-renowned destination with an award-winning downtown. New York, Boston, Montreal and Philadelphia are all within a three-hour drive. The festival takes place at Skidmore College and all the concerts are held at the Arthur Zankel Music Center.

The festival hosts the Mostly Modern Festival Institute, a two-week intensive for performers, conductors, and composers. Musicians who are accepted into this prestigious program will have access to private instruction and performances with the world’s finest musicians. It encompasses more than 100 students, 30 faculty, orchestra, choir, chamber music, masterclasses, lectures, and more. Particpating choral conductors include Kent Tritle, Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NY, and Nicol Matt, Chamber Choir of Europe.
