JACKSON, MO — A Jackson teacher is beyond excited about an upcoming once in a lifetime experience. She gets to throw out the first pitch at Saturday night’s St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. Beth St. John is the choir director at Jackson Junior and Senior High. Her teaching and personality impressed the St. Louis Cardinals Organization, and tomorrow night Mrs. St. John will bring the heat. “It’s a little nerve wracking, my mom immediately said you need a pitching coach,” St. John said. Her proud father gets that job.
For eight years in a row the Jackson choir directed by St. John has performed at Busch Stadium. They sang the National Anthem at a game last week. St. John was nominated by someone with the St. Louis Cardinals’ organization as one of six educators in the state to receive the Missouri Lottery Star Classroom Award.
