Melissa Dunphy in St. Louis

Philadelphia-based composer, Melissa Dunphy, travels to St. Louis (MO) for the first performance of her arrangement of “Hurt” by Trent Reznor. This exploration of drug addiction and psychological despair was a powerful song of its time (1994) and best known through interpretations by both Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash. The new version is scored for double choir, unaccompanied, and will be available from Mormolyke Press following the premiere. It has been created expressly for the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus (Philip Barnes, artistic director). Tickets for the 3 pm performance, Sunday, November 10, will be available at the door of The Sun Theater at 3625 Grandel Square.
