Longfellow Chorus Concert Recording: Coleridge-Taylor’s Hiawatha’s Departure

August 26, 2013 by Charles Kaufmann Leave a Comment

Hello ChoralNetters,

My recent post on the AfriClassical blog that highlights the performance in Portland, Maine, on March 17, 2013, by The Longfellow Chorus, of Part III (Overture to Hiawatha) and Part IV (Hiawatha’s Departure) of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “The Song of Hiawatha,” may be of interest. We performed the complete Hiawatha cycle during the 2013 Longfellow Choral Festival, one of the few renditions in recent history. Links on this blog will lead you to mp3 recordings of our concert performance of Part III and Part IV.
