March 12, 2023 by Santiago Veros, Composer Leave a Comment

Music is a universal language that can bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds. In the case of “Lake of Stars,” the musical collaboration between Santiago Veros, Brian Stevens, and Anthony Silvestri, the magic of music merges with poetry to create a unique and moving work.

The story of “Lake of Stars” begins three years ago at the ACDA conference in Rochester, where Santiago Veros and Brian Stevens met and began working together on a musical project. They decided to invite the renowned poet Anthony Silvestri to bring the lyrics of the piece to life. What followed was a long and passionate creation process of 2 years that ultimately resulted in “Lake of Stars.”

In an exclusive interview, Santiago Veros, Brian Stevens, and Anthony Silvestri discuss their experience in creating this musical work. They share details about the composition process and how music and poetry merged to create a work that is more than the sum of its parts.

The premiere of the video for “Lake of Stars” is scheduled for March 24, 2023 and features the participation of Elektra Women’s Choir and musicians from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Morna Edmunson. This video is the result of years of work and collaboration between these three talented artists.
