Josh Groban, performing in concert on Tuesday July 12 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana will help raise funds for the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.
A multi-platinum singer-songwriter, Josh Groban recently launched his Find Your Light Foundation in partnership with Americans for the Arts. This foundation will help raise funds for non-profit organizations located in and around cities Groban is performing in. The ICC is one of the first such non-profit groups to benefit from this initiative.
Groban and Americans for the Arts are launching a joint text-to-give campaign, which will run for the duration of his worldwide Straight to You tour in 2011. Proceeds from the campaign will go to support both the Find Your Light Foundation and Americans for the Arts as they work to ensure every child and young adult in America has access to quality arts education experiences. Text ART to 50555 to make a $10 donation. A portion of the proceeds will go to the highlighted organization, in this case the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.
“We at ICC are extremely happy and proud to be involved in Josh Groban’s Find Your Light Foundation. The importance of the arts in young people’s lives cannot be underestimated. It is refreshing and gratifying to see an important role model, like Josh Groban, take on such an important initiative. With the climate of cutbacks in educational funding, it is essential that we as humans create opportunities for young people to see, hear and experience the arts. Our existence as a society of culture is at risk if we abandon the opportunity for our youth to experience the arts,” says Henry Leck, ICC’s founder and artistic director.
Groban will be in Indianapolis to perform on Tuesday, July 12 as part of his Straight to You worldwide tour running through November. The tour supports his recent and fifth studio album, “Illuminations” which has already been certified platinum in the U.S. Its No. 4 debut on Billboard’s Top 200 chart is Groban’s fourth consecutive Top 5 chart bow.
