The Joliet City Council and Mayor Arthur Schultz recently
granted the Joliet Central High School Madrigal Choir a
proclamation, declaring Dec. 11, 2010 Joliet Central High School
Madrigal Dinner Day.
Citing music as the universal language of all people, the
proclamation acknowledges that the Madrigal Dinner has provided the
citizens of Joliet with one of the highest quality forms of
entertainment for ten years.
“The Joliet Central High School Madrigal Dinner serves as one of
the premier forms of entertainment in the City of Joliet during the
holiday season,” states the proclamation. “The Joliet Central
Madrigal Dinner has not only served the citizens of Joliet with a
unique form of entertainment, but as a unique opportunity for
further education as it relates to the tradition of the Elizabethan
Era Madrigals.”
