Join the Global Sing for Peace with KarlJenkins and René Clausen

On the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a special concert will bepresented in commemoration and remembrance featuring the music of Karl Jenkinsand René Clausen. The performance by Distinguished Concerts International, New York at LincolnCenter will feature thecomposers themselves leading their special works of remembrance, advocating thehealing power of music.

In coordination with this important event, DCINY along with EMI Classics andBoosey & Hawkes and others are inviting choruses around the world to takepart in a Global Sing For Peace (http://www.globalsingforpeace.org), urgingthem to perform either Karl Jenkins’s The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace orRené Clausen’s Memorial, in part or in their entirety, during the monthof September 2011. Participating choruses will be featured in the DCINY programbook at the commemorative concert on September 11 and on the Global Sing forPeace website. Additionally, any photographs or video recordings of theperformances will also be collected and displayed on the website creating amosaic of voices unified in their call for peace.
