In Memoriam: Sir Lindsey Lafford

April 22, 2014 by Estelle Cole Leave a Comment

The world of music has lost a great friend and composer at the death of Sir Lindsay Arthur Lafford, Lord of Ridley – October October 27, 1912 – April 5, 2014. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his daughter Julia Welbon, and his sons, Llewellyn and Peter.  Requiescat in Pace.

Lindsay Arthur Lafford, aged 101 years and 5 months, passed peacefully the morning of April 5th, 2014 after a brief illness.  Until his illness, he was playing organ for Sunday services, arranging pieces for the brass and piano trio in which he played, and preparing compositions for performance and publication. Learn more about his life at his website here: http://lord-of-ridley.com/bio.htm
