The Burbank Chorale Presents Daniel Elder’s “Ballad to the Moon”
A few weeks ago we released a copy of a new video called Ballad to the Moon. We were happy with the film, but we had a few more ideas about how to improve the audio quality of the film. Well, here it is along with the original film description:
It’s been a few years since we’ve been able to do it, but Leg Lamp Productions is proud to release a brand new video from the Burbank Chorale featuring Daniel Elder’s Ballad to the Moon. Combining high definition nighttime footage, gorgeous mountains vistas, and a hauntingly lovely piano arrangement, the Chorale is able to convey the passionately introspective feelings that Elder’s piece demands. Edited in 1080P HD format and in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, the Burbank Chorale’s latest video was worth the wait!

Thanks for sharing this, Mike. The visual imagery is imaginative and supports this beautiful composition. As for the audio, I think I noticed some distortion, especially on the right channel, and not just at the climax (approx 4′) so I’m guessing that was in the original live recording capture–perhaps the volume was set too high?
One picky detail: the work’s title appears to be “Ballade to the Moon,” not “Ballad to the Moon” (https://www.giamusic.com/store/resource/ballade-to-the-moon-print-g8071)
