PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Singers and its music director, David
Hayes, announce that Mr. Hayes intends to step down as music director at the
end of the 2014-15 season. At that time, he will be concluding 25 years with The
Singers, the last 22 as music director.

A multifaceted conductor, Mr. Hayes will be expanding his musical activities
around the country, increasing his New York City activities and guest-conducting
engagements.

Hayes’ exceptional leadership of the ensemble, utilizing the strengths Mr. Hayes
has woven into the organization to explore other perspectives in choral music and
