The Greater South Jersey Chorus extends a warm welcome to singers who would like to audition to sing during our 2014-2015 season. This mixed community chorus of 90+ singers based in Cherry Hill, NJ has a venerable history of performing in the Camden, Burlington and Gloucester areas and beyond. This season, we welcome a new Artistic Director, Dr. Jason Bishop, and a new accompanist, Mr. Max Esmus. In addition, we commence a relationship with a new rehearsal venue, Grace Episcopal Church in Haddonfield, NJ.
Our 2014 holiday concert, “Christmas Around the World”, will feature that much-loved standard, the Christmas portion of Messiah by Georg Frideric Handel. This central work will be joined with holiday music from a variety of traditions, in arrangements both old and new. At the heart of Spring 2015’s concert program, “The Anglo-American Tradition”, will be the music of Benjamin Britten and Leonard Bernstein–including the latter’s exciting Chichester Psalms.
