Forward Through Fire

April 22, 2026 by Graphite Publishing 1 Comment

Fired Up

Every passing day seems more tumultuous than the last. We are surrounded by global instability, acrimonious politics, scandal, injustice, economic hardship, anger, and meanness. And yet, out of the ashes of despair, composers, singers, and conductors tirelessly rise with hope, resurrection, rebirth, resistance, strength, and resilience. Music heals communities and spreads hope. Musicians understand the importance of art’s role in shaping the world.

The following works from Graphite’s catalog explores these potent ideas with the power of dragons, phoenixes, fire, flight, and the unvanquishable human spirit.

On the same theme, also consider my SATB setting of the Robert Frost poem, FIRE AND ICE, available from J. W. Pepper.
