Former World Choir Games Founders Launch New Company
March 6th 2014 – International release – Two of the founding members of the World Choir Games have recently announced the formation of a new company and artistic mission. Maestro Gábor Hollerung and Piroska Horváth officially introduced Meeting Music to the international choral community and press this week.
“We have had a philosophical difference with our former partner and have created a new artistic and more globally inclusive opportunity by forming Meeting Music. We have learned while working during the past 25 years; it is important to deliver to all of the choral community a fair; inclusive, and cooperative standard of event”, stated Maestro Hollerung.
Both Hollerung and Horváth collaboratively founded the first of the World Choir Games events in 2000 after working with former partner Günter Titsch since 1988. Since that time, the games have been held worldwide including most recently Cincinnati, Ohio USA in 2012.
Maestro Hollerung is the author of the artistic vision and Musica Mundi adjudication system used by the world choir games. The adjudication system has been recognized as the fairest and most equitable form of international choral competition judging and is used worldwide by other competitions.
Horváth developed and oversaw the participation experience and standards for thousands of participants including accommodations; meals, and scheduling. Meeting Music currently has festivals and competitions in Budapest (Hungary); Riva Del Garda, Rome, Venice (Italy); Torun (Poland) and Beira Interior (Portugal).
