Abbie Betinis creates “inventive” (The New York Times), “joyful… incandescent” (Boston Globe) music that “expands into ethereal realms” (Cambridge University Press). With performances from Carnegie Hall to Disney Hall, state prisons to capitol buildings, international cathedrals to intimate summer campfires, her music transports performers and audiences alike through storytelling, relevance, and craft. A frequent guest clinician, she enjoys bringing the “why” off the page and into the energy of a rehearsal. A two-time McKnight Artist Fellow, and recognized by Musical America for her “ability to use her talents to effect social change,” Abbie is co-founder of Justice Choir, a template for community singing and mobile advocacy.

Jennifer Lucy Cook (she/her) is a composer and lyricist based in Los Angeles. Jen specializes in music for the stage and screen, choral music, and pop songwriting. She prioritizes specific, highly emotional lyrics, melodic earworms, and infectious rhythmic grooves, and conceives of every piece from a dramatic, narrative-driven perspective. She is the recipient of the Edwin Fissinger Composition Award, the Chorus Austin Composition Prize, the HerVoice Competition with Chicago A Cappella, and the Cantus Emerging Composer Award. She is an alumni of the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writer’s Grove with Goodspeed Musicals, and her theater commissions include Full House Theatre Co., British Youth Musical Theatre, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
