Eric Ericson has passed

I just heard this morning that Swedish Radio has announced the passing of the great choral conductor, Eric Ericson. This hits me personally very hard as I had the great privilege of working with Eric for many many years in my career with the Netherlands Chamber Choir. We were one of only 2 or 3 groups that he would travel outside of Sweden to conduct. I can’t begin to express what all those years meant to me as an artist, and all the recordings and countless concerts that we did with him. I remember so fondly my last concert with him before I was to return to America for good…..he was so sweet and got teary-eyed to have to tell me goodbye. The world has lost one of the truly great exponents of the choral art, and his legacy will live on forever. RIP, dear dear Eric.
