Emptying The Finale Folder

July 22, 2024 by Tom Council 1 Comment

Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy started out as an Introit for my church choir.  After I retired and moved to the tenor section, Ryan Forkner, the new director, used it several times.  I later added the second verse which made it a short anthem and then Ryan used it for a concert with his high school Chamber Singers. That is the performance that you will hear.  So, now it might be used for church or concert. Text is by Joseph Hart, 1759, Music, The Southern Harmony.

I like it, Tom. Nice job. Years ago I used this great tune. Called it “I Will Arise”. It is also on Pepper, accompanied by piano in 5 (for the most part). https://www.jwpepper.com/10520094.item
    Great to hear your arrangement.
