Dear Earth: A Collaborative Initiative with Global Impact

September 19, 2023 by Santiago Veros, Composer Leave a Comment

In a world where environmental concerns hold great significance, I find myself on an innovative journey to merge my artistic vision as a composer with environmental stewardship, and the result is nothing short of revolutionary. “Dear Earth” will be a collective creation destined to become not only a pivotal moment in my career but also a testament to the power of art and collaboration in addressing urgent global issues.

An idea conceived four years ago, “Dear Earth” will represent an intersection of my artistic vision, environmental commitment, and community engagement. This ambitious initiative aims to create a meaningful work while reforesting the Amazon rainforest by planting an impressive 5,000 trees. However, it’s not just the numbers that are significant; it’s the spirit of collaboration behind the effort that sets it apart.

I vividly recall the moment of inspiration: “When I realized that this opportunity truly existed. I envisioned creating a choral symphonic work that would contribute to the reforestation of the Amazon through tree planting. At the same time, connecting dozens of conductors with the highest values of empathy within a consortium to amplify our message. Allowing each voice to make a meaningful environmental contribution. That’s when I thought it would be a mistake not to create this work. It was at that moment I thought, ‘This is the moment I have been patiently waiting for.'”

The consortium approach changes the rules of the game. This format allows us to think big, without limitations or concern for expenses. The proposal brings together artists, environmentalists, and visionaries, uniting our talents and resources to make a substantial impact. After a conversation with Director Adam Jonathan Con, a turning point occurred. Something clicked and made us realize that the opportunity was ripe to seize.

“Dear Earth” is not just an artistic endeavor but a movement that challenges the misconception that acquiring great works is a passive act. This piece invites people to be part of something grand, a legacy that will resonate throughout history. Being part of this great work, which features the eloquent poetry of Charles Anthony Silvestri, is not merely an acquisition; it is a commitment to supporting our planet.

In an era where climate change and environmental degradation are at the forefront of global concerns, “Dear Earth” offers a ray of hope. It redefines the role of art in the context of conservation, demonstrating that creativity and action can go hand in hand. By participating in this initiative, I hope that kind-hearted conductors seize the opportunity to leave their mark on history, ensuring that their names are forever associated with positive change.
