David Griggs-Janower

August 25, 2013 by Timothy Newton Leave a Comment

Dear Choralnet Friends,

While we all knew this was coming, that does not make it any easier to tell you that Albany Pro Musica’s  Founding Artistic Director and Conductor Emeritus, David Griggs-Janower,  passed away earlier today. I cannot express the depth of the loss we are feeling. We are all devastated  at the passing of this exceptional man, a man whose remarkable musical talents,  passion for excellence and caring for others  brought such joy to thousands upon thousands of people here in the Capital Region of New York, and beyond. Much more will be said over the next days and weeks,  but it is a comfort to know that our beloved Maestro is now at peace, a blessing for him and his family.

I am sure you join me in sending  deepest condolences and thought and prayers to Paige, Michael, Katy, and the rest of David’s family.

With deep sadness,

Karen
