Contemporary Composition in America call for Papers deadline

The North Dakota State University Challey School of Music, the American Choral Directors Association, and the American Composers Forum proudly announce the “NDSU Choral Symposium: Contemporary Composition in America.”  The call for papers deadline is June 1, 2015.  Please go to this link for more information: http://www.ndsu.edu/performingarts/choralsymposium/Contemporary_Composition/call_for_papers.html

Noted composer, conductor, and lecturer Eric Whitacre will headline the three-day symposium, presenting sessions on his music and working with NDSU choral ensembles.  Other featured presenters are:  Jocelyn Hagen, Abbie Bettnis, Craig Carnahan, Steven Sametz, Charles Anthony Silvestri and Rosephanye Powellhttp://www.ndsu.edu/performingarts/choralsymposium/Contemporary_Composition/presenters/index.html

Cantus will be the featured choir for the symposium   http://www.ndsu.edu/performingarts/choralsymposium/Contemporary_Composition/cantus.html

Composers, conductors, choral enthusiasts and music students are invited to attend and participate in sessions highlighting American choral music of both emerging and established composers.

Topics to include commissions, publishing, second-performances, composition competitions and programming. Guest presenters will include nationally and internationally known composers.
