Consortium Opportunity for Women’s Voices

September 19, 2025 by Leave a Comment

My name is Christina Rusnak, a composer based in the Pacific Northwest.

I have a consortium opportunity that is timely in the United States and Globally.

Women’s Rights are Human Rights  will musically explore the inequity, marginalization, abuse and violence that women still face globally in the 21st century. The multi-movement piece for women’s choir, pulls its text from the document created by the United Nations in 2014 (permission has been granted by the U.N.). I would like to work with multiple choirs, to perform this work globally.

Scored for eight-part women’s choir, SSSSAAAA, research, including conversations with women and organizations, began in the spring. I will begin to compose the work in October at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA), and plan to complete the work in Winter 2026.  If you would like to learn more, please contact me at

Consortium benefits can be found on my website.
