Auditions for 2025–26 Season

Consonance (formerly Chicago Choral Artists) is holding auditions for its 2025–26 Season on May 3 (10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.), May 4 (12:00–4:00 p.m.), and May 5 (6:00–9:00p.m.). Please read the information below to learn about the process of scheduling an audition.

1. Please submit your choral or vocal resume as a Microsoft Word or PDF document. Please indicate clearly which voice part you sing most comfortably, and your choral/vocal experiences with names of conductors/directors. Please send resumes to manager@chicagochoralartists.org.
2. If you are invited to audition, please sign up for a time HERE.
3. Audition for the Artistic Director of Consonance by singing the following:
• 2 contrasting selections (art song, aria, or musical theatre; one or both in a foreign language)
• Vocalizing (to demonstrate range, provided)
• Sight-reading (provided)

A maximum of only one absence per concert set is permitted. Please do not sign up for an audition if you do not intend to be faithful in your attendance at rehearsals. Attendance at all dress rehearsals and performances is mandatory. The season schedule is listed below.

Rehearsals are generally on Tuesday evenings from 7:00–10:00 p.m., with occasional additional rehearsals. Artists receive an hourly stipend ($19.50 for 2025–26). Singers should have professional choral experience on their resume. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances for our 2025–2026 season will be at Grace Lutheran Church and School, 7300 Division Street, River Forest, Illinois. Please enter at the main entrance (glass doors) on Bonnie Brae.
