For those who may be in the Nashville area: The Gateway Chamber Orchestra (GCO) and Chorus will be performing this incredible work in Clarksville, TN on April 23 and 24.
Dr. Gregory Wolynec invites interested Middle Tennessee singers to Clarksville sing the choral-orchestral masterwork, Mahler’s Symphony #2 (“Resurrection”) in conjunction with the GCO. Because this piece actually has under 10 minutes of singing (albeit GLORIOUS), there are only four regular rehearsals outside of the dress rehearsal and concerts. See the schedule at the link below. If you should have questions, you may direct them to Dr. Wolynec at – or to me, Douglas Rose, at .
To get information regarding rehearsals (all of which will be held in Music Mass Communication building at Austin Peay State University, room 149) kindly consult the RSVP sheet by clicking on the link below. We start rehearsals this coming Sunday!
Here is the message of invitation from Dr. Wolynec:
“We will be presenting a smaller orchestra version of Mahler’s mighty second symphony – the Resurrection symphony. I am writing to invite you to join us for a potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing the majestic conclusion of this work.”
