Christmas Carol Consortium | Deadline: This Friday, April 3!

 

The deadline for participating in composer Dale Trumbore’s new carol-commissioning consortium is THIS FRIDAY, April 3. As a participating chorus in the consortium, you’ll receive two new SATB a cappella Christmas carols, each approximately 3 minutes long. The carols will be yours to premiere in Winter 2015, though participating choruses may program one or both carols in Winter 2015, or wait to program both at a later date as best suits their programming needs. One carol—upbeat and lively—will set a text from Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, and the other—slower, more meditative—will set a contemporary text by contemporary poet Barbara Crooker. The scores will be delivered by August 1, 2015 as PDFs licensed for unlimited duplication by your choir; each will list you and your choir as commissioners and dedicatees. The level of both new carols will be well-suited for community choruses, collegiate ensembles, and advanced high school groups.
