Choral director transcends language

October 13, 2010 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

KEARNEY, NE — A friendship forged in Texas while producing music with a choir and orchestra resulted in Ron-Dirk Entleutner coming to central Nebraska from Germany.

He spent Wednesday and Thursday working with musical groups at the university, high school and community levels.

Maury Schulte, a singer and tour consultant, was part of the Texas production, as was David Bauer, professor of music at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. In 2009, Entleutner brought his choir and ensembles from Germany to the United States. Schulte asked Bauer to sing with the group, and the friendship was cemented.

“We all had a great five days together rehearsing and performing,” Schulte said. “We all got to know each other.”
