Ye Shall Have a Song highlights the concert that brought together the nation’s three oldest collegiate choruses for the first time in history. Harvard Glee Club (founded 1858, Conductor Andrew Clark), University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club (1859, Conductor Eugene Rogers), and Yale Glee Club (1861, Conductor Jeffrey Douma) combined on Harvard’s Campus in May for a joint concert which inspired the CD.
The CD includes 31 tracks with genres that include Renaissance, Folk Music, Romantic, Spirituals, and Traditional pieces. The track list includes pieces by Poulenc, Britten, Parker & Shaw, Thompson, De Lassus, Flummerfelt, Douma, Villa-Lobos and more as well as newly commisioned piecees by Kristin Kuster, Rollo Dilworth, Stacey V. Gibbs, and Jonathan Kolm.
The three choirs perform around the country and around the world. Updates on the glee clubs can be found on Harvard, Michigan, or Yale‘s webpages respectively.
The CD can be bought on iTunes, Amazon, or The University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club webpage.
