Can you design a Choir Games mascot?

CINCINNATI — You can probably rattle off the names of mascots
for any number of major sports teams without having to think too
much about it. But how about mascots for the big events like the
Olympics? The World Cup? The Paralympics?

You might not realize it, but most major international events
have their own mascots. They’re designed to reflect the culture of
the host city or country and the event itself, welcome
international visitors and move merchandise.

And now’s your chance to create a mascot for the World Choir
Games, which will bring 20,000 people comprising 400 choirs from
more than 70 countries to Cincinnati in July of next year. The 2012
World Choir Games is holding a public contest to design a mascot
for the event, which is nicknamed the Olympics of choral music.
Next year will mark the first time the event takes place in the
U.S.
