At the beginning of the year, I sent out a call for new SSA or SSAA compositions/arrangements for 2013. Here is the information again:
The University of Michigan is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Hill Auditorium this year. The theme at the university this semester is called “Looking Forward.” In honor of the celebration, the Women’s Glee Club (which is the oldest women’s glee club in the U.S.) will be doing a concert entirely comprised of music written or arranged in 2013.
The choir has approximately 75 singers. The song can be written for piano, small instrument ensemble, or a cappella. The level can range from easy to moderately difficult. All compositional styles are welcomed and encouraged. The Glee Club is not looking to commission a work, but will happily pay for the individual octavos.
Also, the Glee Club has been selected to perform at the Central Division ACDA conference this year, so the work has the possibility of being featured at the conference.
