Applications are open for Berkshire Choral International’s competitive Apprentice Program. The program includes free tuition, music and coaching, housing and meals (a total value between $2800 and $4700), and travel. Each week-long program (Seattle, WA; Blacksburg, VA; Florence, Italy in 2023) is an intensive choral experience where apprentices study and rehearse major choral-orchestral works with eminent conductors and soloists. BCI’s Summer 2023 season includes Rollo Dilworth conducting Haydn’s Paukenmesse and spirituals at University of Washington; Jenny Wong leading Orff’s Carmina Burana and Brahms’ Schicksalslied at Virgina Tech; and Heinz Ferlesch conducting Verdi’s Requiem in Florence.
This program is designed for career-track singers, choral conductors, and accompanists enrolled in undergraduate, master’s, or doctorate degree level programs. Recently graduated students may also be considered
