A CHOIR with a history stretching back more than 50 years is in
desperate need of a new musical director.
If Brymbo Male Choir don’t get one soon, they fear for their
existence.
The latest conductor Glyn Hughes has retired after 45 years in
the post.
Yesterday the Brymbo choristers put an urgent appeal for anyone
interested in the job to get in touch.
Just 18 months ago the choir celebrated their 50th anniversary
and during that time they have toured the world.
Publicity officer Mike Thomas said: “Glyn has been a marvellous
servant over the years but he is stepping down.
“We are now at the point that if we do not see any action in
finding a new musical director shortly, we feel that the Brymbo
Choir could be under threat to their existence.
“The choir needs to get somebody on board as quick as possible
and if anybody is interested we would love to hear from
them.”
