The British composer, Sasha Johnson Manning, will attend the world première of her large-scale setting of Psalm 90 on Sunday, April 19, at 3 pm, in Christ Church Cathedral, St. Louis, Missouri. Its verses, referencing that “Man may come to three score years and ten,” are the perfect tribute to the performers, the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus, which celebrates its 70th season in 2026. Also on the program is a previous commission for the choir from Bob Chilcott, which contrasts lines from the Roman poet Catullus with “The Silver Swan,” Orlando Gibbons’ posthumous tribute to Queen Elizabeth I. Audience members may meet Sasha Johnson Manning in person, when she will also be autographing the Chorus’s latest CD recording, Saint Louis Passions, which includes her “Miss Me, But Let Me Go.” Tickets for the 3 pm performance are now on sale, and these may be obtained through the choir’s website or at the door. www.chamberchorus.org
