The Brattleboro (VT) Camerata (https://bmcvt.org/brattleboro-camerata/), a small chamber choir focused on Renaissance-era and Renaissance-inspired music, is currently seeking new members of all voice parts for our upcoming season – we especially invite BIPOC singers and singers of all gender identities to audition.
Rehearsals are Mondays 6:30-8:30pm at the Brattleboro Music Center, and starting on Monday, September 23, we will be preparing a program titled “Seeing Double: Music for Two Choirs.” The repertoire will include two of the all-time great works for a cappella double choir: William Byrd’s “Great Service,” and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Mass in G minor.” “Seeing Double” will be presented at the BMC Auditorium on Sunday December 15, 2024.
Auditions will occur in mid-late August, and will consist of exercises for range, tonal memory, intonation, and sight-singing. In addition, when you sign up for an audition, you will receive a piece to prepare in advance. To schedule an audition with Music Director Jonathan Harvey, or to ask any questions, contact the BMC at or (802) 257-4523.
