Brattleboro (VT) Camerata announces auditions for the 2025-26 season

July 24, 2025 by Jonathan Harvey Leave a Comment

The Brattleboro Camerata (https://bmcvt.org/brattleboro-camerata/), a small chamber choir focused on Renaissance-era and Renaissance-inspired music, is announcing auditions for all voice parts for the 2025-26 season – we especially invites BIPOC singers and singers of all gender identities to audition.

Rehearsals are Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm at the Brattleboro (VT) Music Center, starting on Monday September 8. Our season will begin with a collaboration on Bach cantatas with Juno Orchestra (https://bmcvt.org/juno-orchestra/) on October 12 2025, followed by a program of Hassler and Bach (including Jesu, meine Freude BWV 227) on December 14 2025, and a concert featuring the music of Arvo Pärt and Ockeghem on April 19 2026.

Auditions will occur in mid-August, and will consist of exercises for range, tonal memory, intonation, and sight-singing. In addition, when you sign up for an audition, you will receive a piece to prepare in advance. To schedule an audition with Music Director Jonathan Harvey, or to ask any questions, contact the Brattleboro Music Center at or (802) 257-4523.
