Berkshire Choral International, the leading educational non profit dedicated to adult choral singing, has announced a six program season for Summer 2027. BCI’s roving programs create a “music camp” like experience in locations around the U.S and the world, giving adult singers opportunities for ongoing education, cultural exploration, and elevated performance opportunities with world-class conductors.
Highlights include Britten’s War Requiem, conducted by St. Louis Symphony’s Erin Freeman at SUNY Purchase, NY; Bach’s Magnificat paired with Jocelyn Hagen’s vivid multimedia work The Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci led by Sharon Paul at University of Denver; and a trip to Cape Town, South Africa with Anthony Trecek-King conducting Dan Forrest’s global Jubilate Deo with the Cape Town Philharmonic.
First priority applications are open through December 1, 2026. Tuition for most programs include room and board along with the opportunity to work closely with world-class voice faculty, soloists, and conductors in great rehearsal and concert venues. No audition is required but previous choral singing or musical experience is expected. Last season more than 630 singers participated in BCI programs.
