BETHLEHEM, PA —  The Bach Choir of Bethlehem has received a prestigious international award that could bring $30,000 to the organization that is the oldest Bach choir in America.

The J.S. Bach Foundation in St. Gallen, Switzerland, is honoring the choir with the award given annually to a group that has a “distinctive artistic approach” to its performance of Bach’s music, has a large reach and works to introduce Bach to young people.  The first American recipient of the honor given by the Switzerland foundation could bring up to $30,000.
