Applications for the ZêzereArts Festival Chamber Choir

April 11, 2024 by ZezereArts Leave a Comment

We are pleased and honoured to confirm that Bogdan Djaković will be our guest conductor at the ZêzereArts Festival 2024. Bogdan will lead our Enhanced Programme for advanced choral singers, which is an opportunity to not only participate in an international music festival as part of your summer holiday, but also to further your chamber choir experience at a semi-professional level.

Apply today to audition for the ZêzereArts Chamber Choir, rehearsing and performing alongside professional choral singers, directed by Bogdan, who has chosen an a cappella programme of 19th–20th century Russian church music, Balkan music and modern pieces especially to honour our composer in residence in memoriam, Ivan Moody (1964–2024), the world-renowned composer, conductor and musicologist who would have celebrated his 60th birthday this year. The concert performance will form part of the celebrations of Ivan’s life and work.

The second half of the week is dedicated to the Festival Chorus and a symphonic experience, directed by ZêzereArts Artistic Director, Brian MacKay, which will include concerts in two UNESCO world heritage monuments: the Mosteiro da Batalha and the Convento de Cristo in Tomar.

If you would love the opportunity to come and sing this amazing programme, please get in touch! Further details, including the full repertoire lists, can be found at https://zezerearts.pt/en/festival-chorus-enhanced-programme-2024/
