Alabama kids’ choir kicks off first season

September 9, 2010 by Richard Allen Roe Leave a Comment

Hannah Bradford saw a need and filled it.

“Growing up in Huntsville, we had all kinds of opportunities to participate in choir,” the University of North Alabama senior said. “When I came here, there weren’t any.”

After doing a little legwork — hanging fliers around town and campus as well as talking to teachers and parents — approximately 30 children, mostly second- through eighth-graders, are involved in the first Shoals kids’ choir.

For Bradford, who hopes to be a vocal and choral teacher after graduation, it has been an opportunity to learn as well as teach.
