NYC’s leading chamber treble choir, Accord, is holding auditions June 15 on the Upper West Side. Founded in 2009, Accord performs music intended for treble voices, giving voice to music that is lesser known and premiering new compositions. In Accord, music is sung with openness and joy, but at a demanding level that challenges the singers to grow musically, aurally, and vocally. Singers are expected to learn their music independently and should have excellent aural skills and vocal technique across a variety of styles. The repertoire is generally a cappella, sung with 1-3 voices on a part, and performed from memory. Accord is specifically seeking altos to join the roster at this time, but all voice parts will be heard on a rolling basis. Email to request more info.
