4/28 – Madison Choral Society presents “Grateful Praise”

April 24, 2017 by Lauren Estes Leave a Comment

Please join the Madison Choral Society for a celebration of our “30th” Annual Spring Concert. We will perform “Grateful Praise” in two concerts:
Friday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m., Orange Baptist Church, 123 W. Main Street, Orange
Sunday, April 30 at 4:30 p.m., Mt. Carmel Church, 1735 W. Hoover Road, Haywood

Franz Schubert’s Mass in G is the featured choral work alongside several contemporary songs of faith to create a thrilling celebration of this Easter Season. Suzanne Risk is the guest conductor. The concerts are free, with donations welcome.

The Madison Choral Society began in 1977, growing from an interest in the community to sing the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah. Out of this experience, director Keith Wagner founded the Madison Choral Society in 1986 as a way of performing sacred choral music which would be free to the public.

Through 30 concert seasons, the group has been privileged to sing diverse sacred choral works from a broad spectrum of musical composers. The Choral Society concerts are truly a community event as we draw people who love to sing from Madison, Orange, Culpeper, Greene, and Albemarle Counties.
We are enthusiastic about this concert and look forward to many more years of singing. Please come and join us.
