SOLIHULL, UK — PUPILS from Reynalds Cross School have
scooped £1,000 for a project of their choice – after winning the
Touchwood school choir competition.
Over 20 schools took part in the contest that ran in December,
which aimed to inject some festive spirit into shoppers hunting for
Christmas presents. And shoppers chose the Reynalds Cross choir
after being blown away by their rendition of seasonal classics.
Headteacher Jane Davenport said the pupils would themselves
choose what to spend the prize money on, saying: “It’s their money,
they earned it. I am just proud of my choir.”
A trip to a musical has been suggested while the children have
already wish to spend some of the money on new choir T-shirts and
updating their uniform.
The Reynalds Cross choir combines singing with sign language and
are a busy group – following up their recent success with another
performance at Touchwood to support Troop Aid.
Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: “We’d like
to congratulate all the pupils who gave such a brilliant
performance and a big thank you to everyone who participated in the
competition.”
