
Dr. Mark A. Boyle was awarded the 2025 ACDA National Volunteer Excellence Award at the 2025 ACDA National Confernece in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Boyle has served as the National App Chair for the and has been the driving force for development and improvements in conference app utilization for the National and Region conferences for the last 10 years. Dr. Boyle coordinates the National app team and trains and supports all the Region conference App Chairs in the use of the app for Region Conferences. Dr. Boyle is known for his dedication to quality and for his deep commitment to customer service. We are grateful for his service and the service of all those serving on the National and Region app teams.
When he’s not leading the charge on the conference app, Dr. Mark A. Boyle serves as the Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and is the Director of Music Ministries at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. An active conductor and poet, Boyle is known for his energetic rehearsals and bespoke poetry, crafted for choral setting. He has worked with composers Hyun Kook, Ellen Gilson Voth, Melissa Dunphy, Justine Koontz, Joseph Gregorio and his longtime writing partner, Peter de Mets. A veteran of the United States Navy, Boyle conducted the Bluejackets Memorial Choir while stationed at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, earning a Letter of Commendation for his work with the ensemble. In 2023, Boyle made his Carnegie Hall debut, conducting the venue’s premiere of José Maurício Nunes Garcia’s setting of the Requiem Mass. He has conducted honor choirs across the country at the county, district, region, and state levels. A longtime member of ACDA, Boyle has gratefully served the organization in three states, the Eastern Region, and the National Organization. For the past 10 years, he has led the implementation of various iterations of the Conference App, in addition to providing guidance to the National Executive Board and Staff in selecting the best platform and how to effectively leverage its use to benefit ACDA. Boyle is married to music educator Jane Boyle. They live just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and are most proud of their two sons, Nathan and Patrick.
