Submission Deadline: May 15, 2026

The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) invites expressions of interest from qualified individuals to serve on the inaugural ACDA Music Industry Task Force, a new advisory body that will become a Standing Committee of the Association.

This task force, composed of 5–7 leaders drawn from across the choral and commercial music sectors, will play a vital role in connecting choral artistry and industry enterprise to inspire collaboration, fuel innovation, and expand ACDA’s reach and relevance.

Purpose and Scope

The ACDA Music Industry Standing Committee will serve as a bridge between the choral profession and the commercial sector, informing and advising the ACDA Leadership & National Board on trends, opportunities, challenges, and collaborative strategies that mutually advance the choral field and its industry partners.

Members will:

  • Advise on industry engagement in ACDA conferences, events, and special projects.
  • Provide insight and leadership on emerging business models and technologies.
  • Advocate for shared growth between ACDA and its industry partners.
  • Support strategic partnerships that expand ACDA’s resources, capacity, and impact.
  • Contribute business, creative, and management expertise to ACDA’s commercial initiatives.

Appointment and Commitment

The Task Force will be constituted in April 2026, with its first meeting scheduled for August 2026, focusing on planning for the 2027 National ACDA Conference. Meetings will occur approximately every two months, with sub-group work between sessions.

Initial appointments will be for two-year terms (renewable up to six years), staggered to ensure both continuity and renewal in membership. Appointments are the purview of the ACDA Executive Committee.

  • Technology and software development
  • Equipment/staging/risers, audio/lighting, performance attire, etc.
  • Performing arts organizations and nonprofit management

    • Project planning and logistics
    • Copyright, commissioning, or composition
    • Other relevant professional skills or insights

Submitting an Expression of Interest

ACDA invites expressions of interest from experienced professionals who wish to be considered for appointment to the ACDA Music Industry Task Force.

To streamline the process, all submissions will be collected via the Google Form linked below. Using the form, you’ll be asked to provide:

  • Your information and the opportunity to provide a statement on why you are interested in this task force and any additional context you would like to provide (300 words or less)
  • The names and email addresses of two (2) professional references familiar with your work in the choral or music industry sector. ACDA may contact these individuals to schedule brief conversations to learn more about your experience and professional strengths.
