It is important to resist the temptation to think that activities, and methods are going “fix” your literacy instruction stress. Our profession needs to go back to the drawing board and relearn what’s under the hood of the student brain as it relates to reading skill acquisition. Spoiler alert: Music is a LANGUAGE like all of the others where the brain is concerned. Excellent literacy instruction is also excellent MUSIC literacy instruction.
