The author’s views and opinions are his own, as are those of all ChoralNet bloggers. ACDA is providing comprehensive, expert-informed, regularly updated information about singing safety and best practices for rehearsals during this difficult time on the following web page: https://acda.org/resources-for-choral-professionals-during-a-pandemic/.
I am so excited to see choirs around the US return to singing. And many writing in to or on Facebook to credit the advice received from the experts on this show. I am so grateful to them for their expertise and the giving of their time to the choral profession.
The more Covid expert interviews I do, the lower my anxiety is about it. And they aren’t telling me “it’s no big deal.” It’s just that a certain percentage of anxiety comes from unknowns. Filling in your knowledge gaps can replace the anxiety with focus on actionable steps.
The subpage, Covid-Conversations continues to be updated with new interviews, as well as the latest data related to risks from Covid-19. Remember, there is more to understand than whether or not a singer passes through someone’s “aerosol cloud.” I am keeping up to date on the latest hospitalization rates, and mortality risks so you don’t have to. As you will hear from Dr. McKinsey, there is much good news on those fronts. It’s not all doom and gloom!
You can listen from the widgets below which will take you to Apple or Castbox to finish listening, or you can find the show on Google Play, Spotify, Youtube or Stitcher!
